Bold News is a clean, well defined magazine theme design with a unique featured post slider to highlight noteworthy content. With 4 widgetized regions and the customization functionality of the WooFramework, this theme really paves the way in the magazine theme space. The homepage contains a unique Slider, Recent News and widgetized sidebar and footer areas. All are optional and can be setup in the options panel. The featured post slider can be set up in the theme options where you specify what tag to pull posts from. Those posts are then pulled into this neat, visual javascript slider. You can customize the general typography, and there is full support for Google Fonts in the font selector. The theme has 4 widgetized areas in the footer and 1 in the sidebar, and as always comes with custom Woo Widgets (Ad Space, Blog Author, Embed, WooTabs, Search, Flickr, Twitter, Tabs, etc.). The theme includes 9 alternative color styles which you can preview in the demo, and also has styling options for background color/image and setting link color.

SimplePress is a slick new page-based theme great for anyone looking to give their website a clean and professional look. The goal with this design was to make something similar to other business-oriented themes, but with a simpler and crisper aesthetic. The theme features a un-bloated bloated homepage with a beautiful javascript slider and clear hierarchy, as well as fully functional Blog and Gallery sections. SimplePress comes with five different color variations. If Silver isn’t your style, then try switching to the Blue, Green, Red or Purple color schemes. Even though SimplePress was created to be a CMS with a Page-Based structure, you can also run the theme like a normal blog instead. This theme utilizes timthumb to automatically resize your thumbnail images. Because of this, only one thumbnail images is required per post, despite the various thumbnail sizes used in the theme. With SimplePress you can place 125×125 banner images in your sidebar and 468×60 ads to your post pages with ease. Advertisements are handled from within wp-admin, and can be turned on and off at any time.
